Located in the River Market District in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas, Club 27 is a chic event venue available for private events of all types - weddings, rehearsal dinners, birthdays, holiday parties, community group meetings, fitness classes and more. On Tuesday and Friday nights, Club 27 also opens to the public for salsa classes, followed by dancing to salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton late into the night.
The 3300-square-foot venue's unique style with big chandeliers, accent lighting, stylish lounge furniture and a gorgeous facade lends itself to an unforgettable experience. The space features a 1000-square-foot professional hardwood dance dance floor and a full bar, making it especially attractive for dancing and entertainment events.
Choosing a Lightweight, Modular Stage
When Club 27 decided to purchase a stage to accommodate a salsa band for an upcoming event, general manager Jorge Gutierrez contacted StageDrop to request a quote for a lightweight portable stage.
StageDrop suggested IntelliStage to fit Club 27's requirements for a stage that's lightweight, modular and easy to set up and store. Gutierrez purchased (8) IntelliStage Lightweight 3'x3' Portable Stage Units at a 24" height to create a 6'x12' stage.
The IntelliStage Lightweight Stage System features lightweight stage platforms (only 32 lbs per 3'x3' platform) and collapsible aluminum risers that are easy to carry and set up by one person, and the 3'x3' units can be connected together to create stages of different shapes and sizes, from a simple rectangle to a T-shape, L-shape or runway.
Gutierrez also ordered StageDrop's Ameristage black box-pleat stage skirting for the front and sides of his new stage. Ameristage stage skirts are made of inherently flame-resistant polyester and attach to the stage easily with the included skirt clips. They hide any cords or equipment that may be hanging out underneath the stage and provide an elegant finishing touch.

Club 27 offers their customers the stage as an additional rental option to use during events, and the customers are thrilled, because it is cheaper than bringing in an outside rental company to provide the stage as well as one less vendor to manage. "Honestly, I love my stage," Gutierrez smiles, "because the pieces allow me to have a small stage setup or a big stage setup, and I can grow through acquisition."
Doubling in Size
The IntelliStage Lightweight Stage System is also completely modular, so it's easy to expand your stage down the road - which is exactly what Club 27 did a few months later. Gutierrez returned to StageDrop to purchase 10 more 3'x3' stage units for a total of 18, which can create a stage up to 9'x18' in size. Some of the events that have utilized the stage have included weddings, concerts, the Yarn Storytelling, and the Save 10 Kickoff for the Women's Foundation of Arkansas.
Club 27's stage has more than paid for itself, not only in rental fees but also in convenience for their customers. It's a small investment that has gone a long way toward providing added value to their customers and boosting revenue for their thriving venue rental business.
